Vibrant learning at its finest! Yesterday, our MVES FRC after-school enrichment students took an exciting field trip to the technology showcase at The Center! The students spent the day exploring cutting-edge technology up close—interacting with humanoid robots, hanging out with a robotic dog, seeing 3D printers and autonomous mowers in action, and checking out real helicopters, drones, and flight simulators. It was an inspiring, fun-filled day of discovery for our future innovators! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Mrs. Tressie Smith’s second-grade and Mr. Cam Brown’s third-grade classes tied as our High Attendance winners last week, both achieving an incredible 100% attendance average! Way to go, Mustangs! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Character, leadership, and teamwork in action! Mrs. Vanessa’s 3rd grade PE class put their communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to work as they tackled the challenge of “Crossing the Toxic River.” Working together as a team, students practiced being Effective Communicators and Active Collaborators—Portrait of a Rocket characteristics—while also putting two Leader in Me habits into action: Be Proactive and Begin With the End in Mind. Each team had only one step-box “log” and one poly-dot “boulder” for each team member to safely make it across the river. Success required communication, planning, cooperation, and thinking ahead! Character, leadership, and teamwork were on full display in PE! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Mrs. Tressie’s second grade class has been working hard in their classroom leadership roles! Every two weeks, students earn a paycheck for their work, attendance, and stellar behavior. Friday was class store day! Students counted their money, chose items within their budgets, and made their purchases independently. What a fun way to practice leadership and money skills!

Ms. Hallie’s 4th grade scientists got a little dirty this week as we learned where our food really begins! Students explored soil horizons, learned about the different layers of soil, and discovered how soil plays an important role in growing the food we eat. To make our learning a little more “delicious,” we even created our own edible soil profiles! Students had so much fun building the different layers while putting their new knowledge to the test. We loved connecting science, agriculture, and hands-on learning while learning more about the journey from dirt to delicious 🌱🐴❤️ #MustangPride #allinforagweek

Ms. Tabitha’s and Mrs. Martin’s classes celebrated All In for Ag Week with a visit from Mr. Alex Gibson of Gatormade! He talked with students about sheep farming and the importance of FFA to our youth and community. Today for All In for Ag week, 3rd grade was visited by Rockcastle County’s very own Miss Rockcastle. A beauty queen who’s not afraid to get her hands dirty!
