Students in Michelle Martin’s Science classroom have been learning about Earth’s changing surface. They have explored different scenarios to determine what makes erosion worse and what factors can help prevent it. Through hands-on discussions and investigations, students are building a strong understanding of how our planet is constantly changing. Next on their science learning journey, students will dive into the study of fossils and explore different rock layers, discovering how they help tell the story of Earth’s past!

Mrs. Shepherd’s first grade classes met another i-Ready goal! To celebrate their hard work in February, they enjoyed a fun-filled Cookie Party. The students danced to the “Cookie Boogie,” sampled a variety of cookies, and then created a class graph to determine their favorite. It was a delicious and exciting way to wrap up the month of February! ❤️🐴🖤🍪 #MustangPride

We loved having Mrs. Paige, our PRI Coordinator, visit a few classes on Friday! She demonstrated how easily germs can pass from person to person and showed students just how effective proper handwashing with soap can be in stopping the spread. It was such a great (and timely!) reminder during this season of sickness that clean hands help keep everyone healthy. Thank you, Mrs. Paige, for helping our students learn how to protect themselves and others! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Our K–2 Mustangs have the opportunity to participate in Paloma, an at-home reading activity sent directly to parents’ phones. Mrs. Shepherd's and Ms. Berkley’s first grade classes have been learning all about American symbols! 🇺🇸 As part of our unit, students created posters identifying their chosen symbol, explaining what it stands for, and sharing why it is important. They also presented their posters in front of the class. We are so proud of our first graders for the amazing job they did! They spoke clearly, showed confidence, and demonstrated a great understanding of their symbols. Way to go, first grade! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride
