Mrs. Daisy’s and Mrs. Maegan’s 1st grade class is celebrating amazing math test scores (adding and subtracting multiples of 10) by earning a popsicle treat!

Kindergarten had a fun-filled Easter egg hunt today! Students enjoyed searching for colorful eggs and sharing lots of smiles and excitement along the way.

Today, MVES staff had an underground spirit day — Mr. and Mrs. Roper Day inspired by Three's Company! Staff had fun dressing up in muumuus, Hawaiian shirts, and bright accessories while bringing lots of laughs to the school day.
Between 50–60 cars came through the drive-thru for Hop Into Reading! More than 100 books and Easter eggs were given out to our students and families. 📚🐣
A big thank you to Rock Regional for the generous donation of eggs, and to all of the volunteers who helped make sure a book was placed in a child’s hand. Your support helped make this event a success!

Kindergarten students enjoyed a special visit today when Ms. Kierra brought her pet rabbit to school! Students loved meeting and holding this furry friend. 🐰
We loved having Allegro Dance - Inclusive Dance Outreach visit Mrs. Michaela and Mrs. K’s room today! Students explored dance, movement, and rhythm, with a special focus on the electric guitar — and everyone had a turn to play!

Mrs. Shepherd’s first grade class went into full learning mode during Boot Camp: Mission Possible! Cadets worked with their troops to complete missions reviewing place value and important reading skills. They had a great time learning, working together, and conquering each mission!

Our 4th Annual Spring Carnival was a huge success, thanks to our amazing MVES families and generous community members! Your support means the world to our Mustangs, and we appreciate each and every one of you.
Without the help of our students, staff, families, community members, and local businesses, this event would not be possible. So many people had a hand in making this year a success that we simply couldn’t name them all—but please know how thankful we are for every donation, every helping hand, and every bit of support given before, during, and after the carnival.
This is truly one of our favorite events because it reflects the strength of our Mustang community and the way everyone comes together for our students.
Because of this year’s incredible success, we are excited to announce that ALL school supplies will be covered for the 2026–27 school year! Thank you for continuing to make a difference for MVES!

Mrs. Charon and Mr. Scarbro’s second grade classes had a wonderful field trip today to the Rockcastle County Public Library!
While visiting, students learned about the many programs and resources the library offers to our community. They also enjoyed listening to Mrs. Olivia read A Bad Case of Stripes, which quickly became a class favorite.
To top off the day, students had the chance to show off their creativity by participating in a follow-along painting activity led by Mrs. Olivia. Each child created their very own masterpiece!
