Brick Mobile is in the building—literally! 🚧🏗️
Founded in Georgetown and inspired by the creative vision of Dacian Keaton, Brick Mobile grew from a simple idea into a hands-on engineering experience for kids. The company is owned by Duane and Dacian Keaton, and after twenty years of teaching in the Fayette County School System, Duane now brings his passion for learning and building into schools across the region.
This week, MVES students are diving into Duane’s “Tumbling Towers” lesson, where they learn how tall buildings are constructed, explore the basics of structural integrity, and get insider tips for building with LEGOs. Then comes the big moment—the tower tumbler test! Today’s record? A towering 46 inches that survived five full seconds of shaking! 🎉
Every class, K–5, will get hands-on time with Duane throughout the week.

This month, RCS’s Leader in Me focus was Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind. Our MVES Mustangs—and our entire community—have been putting this habit into action. The end in mind was feeding thousands of members of our Rockcastle community. Students donated food for Kenna’s Kitchen, and FRCYS students helped count and organize the donations. High school students prepared food before the event, and many volunteers helped cook, pack boxes, and deliver meals.
RCS is truly a community of leaders.

The MVES Musical Mustangs brought holiday cheer to the Rockcastle County Kiwanis Club Christmas Tree Lighting with a festive performance!

Our MVES Academic Team had a great start to their season at last night’s first meet. The team competed in two very close Quick Recall matches and had several students place in their content-area tests. In Language Arts, Isabelle McGuire and Bonnie Price finished in the Top 10, with Isabelle taking first place. In Science, Beau Adams, Ollie Smith, RG Smith, and Cannon Whittamore all finished in the Top 10. RG placed third, Beau placed second, and Cannon earned first place. Way to go, Mustangs!
MVES Archery is off and running this season! Our Mustang Archers shot in a 10 meter warm up this weekend, posting some impressive scores! The Mustangs were led by Kholer Carpenter, who placed 4th out of the whole match for elementary boys! The girls were led by Destiny Reynolds. Many of our mustang archers competed for the first time this weekend. We are in for an exciting season!

Mount Vernon Mustangs Shine at UNITE Meeting
The Rockcastle County UNITE Coalition held its monthly meeting today, and we were so proud to have the MVES Mustangs well represented! Three of our outstanding student UNITE Poster Contest winners attended the meeting along with their parents.
We were especially proud that our county winner was among them! All of these talented students were recognized and presented with certificates for their creativity and participation in promoting drug-free living and making positive choices.
A big thank-you goes out to our students and their parents for taking the time to attend and support our UNITE efforts. Your involvement and Mustang pride truly make a difference! ❤️🐎🖤
