Fourth-grade students in Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Tabitha’s classes explored collisions using marbles and rulers! Through this hands-on activity, they observed how force affects an object’s motion.

Ms. Kelli and Ms. Alainna’s kindergarten class explored what plants need to live and grow!

Today was High Attendance Day, and we were so happy to see our Mustangs! All classes with perfect attendance had a chance to win a special treat. Mrs. Shepherd’s first-grade class was the lucky winner and enjoyed Frostys and fries from Wendy’s! Thank you to Mr. Brown and Mr. Chris Settles from Wendy’s for the yummy treat. Our Mustangs completed the First 8 Days of Leader in Me! Through engaging activities, students prepared for a successful school year by learning expectations and what it means to be responsible citizens, effective communicators, active collaborators, critical thinkers, learners, and leaders. These lessons have helped build a strong foundation for a year filled with learning, leadership, and growth. Thursday’s Underground Spirit Day was a hit! We rocked our favorite band shirts, and one very observant fourth grader cracked the case during lunch. Congratulations to Emerlyne Hall-Elam, our Rock & Roll Detective! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Students in Mrs. Martin’s and Mrs. Tabitha’s science classes explored energy through hands-on learning with car launchers and Hot Wheels! They made exciting observations, asked thoughtful questions, and are ready to dive deeper into energy in the coming days. ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Mrs. Lyndsey’s reading class learned an important lesson today: reading gives us power! Students were first given materials and challenged to build a catapult—but there was one catch… no directions! They had to work together, experiment, problem-solve, and push through some productive struggle. Then, students were given a passage about catapults that explained how to build one using the same materials. Suddenly, the words on the page became a tool! Students were able to use what they read to understand the task, make changes, and successfully build their catapults. Today we learned that reading isn’t just something we do in reading class. Reading helps us understand, solve problems, learn new things, and accomplish things we couldn’t do before. When we can read, we have the power to learn, create, and succeed! ❤️🐴🖤

Ms. Kandace’s and Mr. Brown’s third graders practiced synergizing today as teams worked together to save Fred! Teams learned that together is better when it comes to meeting our goals! 🪱🛟

FRC After-School Enrichment kicked off on Monday with 52 students! Over six Mondays, students will enjoy fun, educational activities including exercise, LEGO, STEM, and cooking classes. This past week, Mrs. Shepherd’s first grade class learned about being a class family, building friendships, and being a leader. They wrapped up the week by making a Friendship Salad! The ingredients included kindness, sharing, respectful words, hard work, and happiness. Students promised to bring these ingredients into their classroom every day. They decided to leave out one ingredient—the rotten banana! They agreed there is no room for bad words, hurtful actions, or unkindness in their class family. It’s going to be a great year! ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride

Mrs. Tabitha’s fourth grade class enjoyed the read-aloud The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors! After listening to the story, students were given three different scenarios and had to choose whether they would be Rock, Paper, or Scissors. They finished the activity with a fun Rock, Paper, Scissors competition. ❤️🐴🖤 #MustangPride
